Big East Week Three Preview

Rutgers (2-0, 0-0 Big East) travels to Raymond James Stadium to meet South Florida (2-0, 0-0 Big East) in a Thursday night primetime matchup. The Scarlet Knights own the all-time series lead at 5-2, but the Bulls are favored by eight in a game that will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.

Louisville (2-0, 0-0 Big East) looks to start the season 3-0 for the first time since 2006 when the Cardinals host North Carolina (1-1, 0-1 ACC). That 2006 season culminated with an Orange Bowl victory against Wake Forest, the school’s only BCS appearance.

Pittsburgh (0-2, 0-1 Big East) hosts Virginia Tech (2-0, 1-0 ACC) at Heinz Field looking to avenge a 31-17 loss to Youngstown State in the Panthers’ home opener. It will be the first time the teams have met since 2003, when Pitt knocked off then fifth-ranked Tech.

Connecticut (1-1, 0-0 Big East) squares off with Maryland (2-0, 0-0 ACC) for just the second time in history. It will be the first time the Huskies have faced their former coach since he left the program in 2011.

Syracuse (0-2, 0-0 Big East) and NCAA-leading passer Ryan Nassib host FCS opponent Stony Brook. Receiver Alec Lemon is the player to watch. The senior needs just six catches to become the Orange’s all-time leader in receptions.

Dual-threat QB Munchie Legaux and Cincinnati (1-0, 1-0 Big East) face off against Delaware State. Legaux was impressive in the Bearcats 34-10 opening-game win against rival Pitt, throwing for 205 yards and rushing for another 117.
