Old foes clash in College Park this week as Maryland plays host to Mid-Atlantic rival West Virginia. The schools, separated by just 200 miles, often battle over recruiting territory and area bragging rights. West Virginia holds a slight edge in the head-to-head matchup, winning the past five contests against the Terrapins. Maryland methodically and meticulously put away Purdue -- and looked nothing like the team that ended the regular season with two lopsided losses.  Sam Hollenbach passed for 223 yards and two touchdowns, Lance Ball rushed for 98 yards, and the Terrapins won the Champs Sports Bowl 24-7 on Friday night.

Maryland and Purdue began practice in Orlando on Saturday, just six days away from their primetime showdown in the 17th annual Champs Sports Bowl.  The practices, which are closed to the public and held on the ancillary fields surrounding the Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium, were the teams first workout since arriving in Central Florida late Friday afternoon.
