MEDIA CREDENTIALS CLOSED on December 16, 2015.
FCSports works with the media relations directors of the participating schools to review the list of applicants for bowl game credentials. First priority will be given to outlets which regularly cover FCSports or one of the participating schools.
Media members who have been approved may pick up their credentials during Media Registration at the Media Hotel (Rosen Plaza) during bowl week or at Media Will Call on gameday. No credentials will be mailed.
Approved media will receive e-mails from the FCSports Communications staff with information prior to the teams’ arrivals and each day during bowl week. Orlando Bowl Week will also provide a mobile app specifically created for those covering this year's games.
To obtain your media credential you must:
- Be present at Media Registration or Media Will Call to receive your credentials, thus one person cannot obtain media credentials for all members of his or her media agency.
- Present a government-issued photo ID.
- Sign your name on the credential registration form. Please Note: For security reasons, credentials will only be issued to the recipients named on the credential application.
Credentials gain admittance to official bowl sanctioned events such as press conferences, practices and hospitality events. Bowl game credentials will NOT serve as admittance to any of Orlando's major theme parks during team visits. Respective theme park media relations contacts – available in the bowl media guide -- must be contacted prior to your visit.
Media registration prior to gameday will be located in the Green Room on the lobby floor of the Rosen Plaza Hotel. At registration, media who have been approved to cover the game will receive their credential, media gift and parking pass (if applicable). See the e-mailed daily itineraries or the Bowl Week app for hours of operation.
Credentials not picked up at Media Registration will be available on the day of the game at the Media Will Call table located on the Northwest corner of the Orlando Citrus Bowl Stadium, near Gate F and media parking. The booth will open three hours prior to kickoff. NOTE: Parking passes MUST be obtained prior to gameday. A shuttle originating at the Media Hotel will be provided for media who do not receive parking, which will be limited.
The preferred media entrance on gameday is at Gate F in the southwest corner of the stadium. All bags entering the stadium will be searched. Please allow extra time for entry into the stadium on gameday.
The Orlando Bowl Week Media Hotel is the Rosen Plaza. The room rate for media staying at the hotel is $99 per night. Reservations for the hotel may only be made online when applying for credentials. Media will not receive the preferred rate if contacting the hotel directly unless they have already been approved for a credential.
The media hospitality room will be located at the Rosen Plaza Hotel. Beverages and light snacks will be available in the room. See the Bowl Week app, media guide or daily itineraries for hours of operation.
A limited number of parking passes, issued on a priority basis, are available. Parking passes may be applied for during the credential application process. Parking passes will be distributed along with media credentials at registration at the Rosen Plaza Hotel. Lost parking passes will not be replaced.
Media are encouraged to utilize the media shuttle from the Rosen Plaza on gameday. See the media guide or daily itineraries for hours of operation.
Both bowl games are frequency coordinated events. Once credentialed, media members will be sent information on coordinating with the bowl’s gameday official in charge of radio frequencies. Information will be provided to all applicable credentialed media. Lack of compliance with this rule will result in the credential recipient being escorted from the stadium.
No online internet service will be allowed "real time" transmission of the Russell Athletic Bowl. Only contractual rights-fees paying media will be allowed "real time" transmission during the event. "Real Time" is defined as any online media providing live continual play-by-play coverage of an event. Outlets planning to cover the game using blogs or social media applications (such as Twitter and Facebook) should note that on their credential application.
Photo passes will be issued only to accredited photographers and videographers on assignment and photographers authorized by Florida Citrus Sports. No unaffiliated freelance photographers will be granted credentials. Photo passes grant access to sidelines and the press box. Under NCAA rules, photographers are not allowed between the 25-yard lines and must remain outside the restraining lines surrounding the playing field.
Credentialed photographers are encouraged to work on gameday in a climate controlled tent in the stadium’s northwest corner. Snacks will be provided, while a media meal will be provided in the press box. TV-Photo Vests are distributed here and are to be returned here postgame.
TV stations planning to bring satellite trucks to the game, must notify Greg Creese at least 48 hours prior to gameday to secure a parking spot at the stadium.
Media members are often eager to cover team theme park visits, however all three of Orlando's major theme parks require media members to have an assigned escort before entering the parks. Please contact the park(s) through their respective media relations departments.
